The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. The canvas is slack to the stretcher. All elements appear to be present. All elements adhere well to the underlying support. There are some drying craquelures to the blue and purple passages. There are drying craquelures to the black passages in the upper centre. There are craquelures in the green, white and yellow passages of the head of the right figure. There are some drying craquelures to the pink passages of the right breast of the female figure. There are craquelures, some flaking, slightly tenting, in the white passage around the mouth of the female figure. There is a horizontal paint loss of circa 0.2 x 11cm. and some other pinpoint sized paint losses in the centre area, the mouth of the female figure. There is some soft surface dust and dirt in places. There are some pinpoint sized brown accretions in places. There are handling marks and some signs of wear to the wooden frame. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
