The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
(i) The work is structurally sound. The sheet is laid down to the underlying support. There is rubbing to all four extreme corners. There is a pinpoint nick with associated lifting to the extreme lower left corner. There are some soft pinpoint abrasions in places to the extreme left vertical edge. There are faint hairline abrasions in places to the left half, only visible under strong raking light. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work is in generally good condition.
(ii) The work is structurally sound. The sheet is laid down to the underlying support. There is rubbing to all four extreme corners. There are some soft minor abrasions in places to all of the extreme edges. There are faint hairline abrasions in places across the surface, only visible under strong raking light. There is a superficial layer of dust across the surface of the work. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work is in generally good condition.
The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
