Folds in the paper along each edge of the image, in the margins, in a horizontal line along the bottom edge running through the top of the signature, and in a diagonal line across the lower half. A break in the paper at the lower right corner of the image. A few pinholes in the upper right background. The paper is toned, with lighter spots visible in the background and clothing. The paper bears pencil marks in the margins.
