This work is slightly dirty. The board is flat. The paint layer is stable and well textured. There are five or six small losses in the dark rocks in the center of the composition, and possibly another in the headland on the left side. There is a vertical raised line in the water in the lower right that may have a few tiny losses. Under ultraviolet light, one can see long horizontal strokes of what seems to be non-original pigment in the sky. These presumably were applied to improve a slightly uneven surface. The condition is good overall.

The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
