A study of poppies

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is in good condition, with a clean paint surface under a clear varnish. Frame abrasions, scuffing, and small tears in the paper are visible along all four extreme edges but are hidden by the frame. Minor sensitive retouching has discolored with age in the edges of the pink poppy and in the base of the largest leaf, as seen in the catalogue image. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned restoration. The painting is ready to hang in its present state. Please note the frame is sold as is.
