The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Each with the expected surface wear and scratches; with light rubbing and losses to the enameled decoration; each figure restuck through the neck, with losses to their repaired hands and restoration to their hair; the male figure previously had a scroll in one hand (visible in the 1939 catalogue), now lacking, and the female figure likely also had something in her hands at some point; the gentleman with both forearms restuck at the elbows, with an area of restoration at his center where the (now lacking) scroll was attached to his chest, his proper left arm broken through the shoulder and elbow and now restored; the maiden lacking one braid, with a hairline encircling her face, a second one issuing at her forehead extending to her proper right ear.
