The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.

The cope with small repairs to the elaborate metallic edging. There is fraying to the metallic threads, and to the brocade, scattered in areas and some quite apparent. The yellow silk ground is with areas of soiling. The collar on the cope with adhered velcro pad to interior. The silk lining with tears and considerable abrasions particularly to the corners.
