The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall condition with surface scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. The wood surfaces with minor nicks, abrasions and edge chips. The chairs have been refinished at some point in their history.
One chair with more prominent seams (four total) along the seat where the boards connect. The proper right armrest with scattered minor nicks (largest 1⁄4 in.) along the outer edge. The proper left armrest with a some splitting to the wood (approximately 6 in. long) with prior restoration, stable. The proper right stretcher between the seat and the armrest lacking one wooden plug and with a minor edge nick (1⁄4 in.). The proper left back leg with two areas of restoration (9 x 1 in. and 111⁄2 x 1⁄4 in.) along the inside of the leg where the top surface has worn and has been stained to match the rest of the wood; only visible upon very close inspection.
The other chair is stamped with an additional cypher mark. The seat with a more prominent seam where two boards connect. The back of the backrest with an area of restoration (approximately 5 x 1 in.) that has been filled in with wood veneer and stained to match, only visible upon close inspection. With one wooden peg along the underside of the seat has been replaced. The proper left back side of the chair with a minor separation between the leg and spacer; a prior area of restoration just below this spacer, stable.
