Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.
The pair of hangings: With considerable wear to the silvered metallic threads throughout. A few tears and mended holes scattered. One hanging with patch repairs to the bottom corners. The other hanging with a large area of water mark at an extreme edge; 1081⁄4 in. (275 cm) long, 211⁄2 in. (54.6 cm) wide.
The panel: With fraying and losses to the silver and gold metallic threads. A few small patch repairs. The edged trim with wear to the metallic threads. Laid on linen, which is with areas soiling and small tears or pinhead holes; 371⁄2 in. (95.3 cm) long, 851⁄4 in. (216.5 cm) wide.
