The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall good condition; each with some rubbing, and losses to the gilding and enamels; the stoppers later associated and overpainted, possibly made of plaster; the Sultan with a crack across the base mostly obscured by old overpaint, now flaking and a later wooden hookah (the top spindle reattached) and repairs and overpaint to his foot; the Sultana's head likely broken off and reattached with associated overpaint, her hand also restored and overpainted, a few scattered small chips including to the hem of her robes and the beak of the bird.
