The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
- Both of these do not sit flush as they have a straight rectangular support to be standing on a stand.
- Both with some rubbing and wear to the enamels as well as scratches.
One buddhist lion:
- The front right paw has been broken and reattached and restored, as has the right ear.
- There is some small area of restoration to the back right paw.
- There is a small shallow chip to the extremity of the tail, measuring 0.5 cm x 0.1 cm long.
- There are some nicks to the extremities, including to the front left paw.
The other buddhist lion:
- There are some small losses to the extremities of the raised front paw.
- There are some tiny nicks and losses to the extremities.
- The ball has been reattached to the underside, with associated restoration.
- There are some restoration to the snail curls of the buddhist lion's beard.
- There are some other tiny areas that have been touched-up.
- There are losses along the outside edge of the rectangular support to the base.
