We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The vases:
- Both with restorations to the ribbons and to a few snail curls.
- One of them wth a hairline crack to the body of the base measuring approx 6 cm. long.
- The other vase with a horizontal surface line to the plinth measuring approx. 6 cm. long.
- Both with some small nicks to the extremities.
The ewer:
- There is restoration to the neck of the vase that been broken in several pieces and reattached with associated overpainting.
- There is further restoration to the ribbons in the mouth and to half of the tail taht has been broken, restuck and overpainted.
- There are several small areas of restoration to some snail curls.
- There is restoration to the tip of the spout.
- There are several paper labels to the base, one partial label, another reading 'K'ANG-HI (1662-1722) and a further label to the reverse of the vase reading '80'.
- The buddhit lion of the cover may have been reattached.
- The cover may possibly by matched.
The vases and ewer with general age-related surface wear as can be expected.
