拍品专文

These uncut panels would have later been made up in to dragon robes to be worn on formal court occassions. The Huangchao liqi tushi or 'Illustrated precedents for the ritual paraphernalia of the (Qing) imperial court', classified all clothing and accessories used by the court, from the emperor to the lowest functionary. The colour yellow was reserved for robes worn by members of the Imperial family whilst brown was reserved for the use of an Imperial Duke.
