Details
The group comprises a pair of cups, covers and saucers, decorated all over in bright shades of blue with stylised flowers and leafy stems, the saucers with a cross-hatch border encircling the interior of the rim. The bases of the saucers and cups are each painted in underglaze blue with a lingzhi fungus within a double circle. The other, similar pair of saucers is each decorated to the centre with a blossoming prunus tree, the white flowers in reserve on a washed blue ground, a band of prunus half flower heads encircles the inside of the rim. The reverse is further embellished with sprigs and each base is painted in underglaze blue with a stylised flower head within a double circle.
The prunus-decorated saucers: 6¼ in. (16.1 cm.) and 6⅜ in. (16.4 cm.) diam,
The cups and covers: 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high overall
The saucers: 4¾ in. (12 cm.) and 4⅝ in. (11.8 cm.) diam.
