The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record any changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The small 'deer' dish:
- There are some minor nicks and very small chips to the rim and foot rim.
The 'geese' dish:
- There are a few small chips, frits and nicks to the rim.
The two 'crane and pine' dishes:
- One has a rim chip measuring max. approx 3 x 0.3 cm and some smaller chips to the foot rim.
- The other one has a rim restoration measuring max. approx. 3 x 2 cm and a related hairline rim crack of circa 5 cm long. It also has a star crack to the centre measuring max. approx. 8 x 5 cm.
The 'kraak' dish:
- There are scattered iron spots to the front.
- Some kiln dust adheres to the foot rim.
The larger 'deer and pine' dish:
- There is a reattached rim chip measuring max. approx. 6 x 2 cm with some associated small losses, and a restoration to the rim measuring max. approx. 6 x 3 cm.
- There are a few hairline cracks, the largest measuring max. approx. 5 cm long.
