The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The figure of Shoulao:
- The head and one shoulder have been broken off and restuck.
- There are some chips and nicks to the extremities, particularly to the edges of the robes and to the tip of the peach.
- There is some minor water damage to the surface of the soft wood stand.
The 'bamboo' carving:
- There is a short crack and associated tiny chip to one edge.
- There are a few areas of natural flaw within the stone. Otherwise this is in overall fairly good condition.
- The carving is 13.5 cm. long.
