The Impressionist and Modern Online sale brings together a spectrum of masters, spanning from the late 19th Century to the pre-war era, encompassing Impressionism, its post-impressionist followers, Orientalism, as well as the birth of Modernism from Cubism to the Vienna Secession and the emergence of abstraction.

Elegantly tracing the chronological evolution of art through one of the most avant-garde periods in history, the sale highlights movements that precede today’s contemporary practices by more than a century. From Jean Arp, Pierre Bonnard, Victor Brauner, Henri Laurens and Fernand Léger to Henri Matisse, it showcases the many ways in which artists radically broke away from convention, redefining the aesthetic parameters of art through both innovative techniques and groundbreaking ideas.
