This print depicts a legendary tale in which the hero Minamoto Yorimitsu, also known as Raiko, accompanied by his four retainers, slays the giant demon Shuten-doji at his mountainous lair on Oeyama.

This famous scene was depicted by numerous artists including Katsukawa Shuntei (see Lot 66) and Utagawa Kuniyoshi (see Lot 74).
