Viewing Cherry Blossoms at Gotenyama (Gotenyama hanami no zu)
Gotenyama (now Kita-Shinagawa) was a famous spot for cherry blossoms during the Edo period. In this triptych a group of women can be seen picnicking under the trees with a panoramic view out over Tokyo Bay. Three further women in the foreground are also enjoying the view.
