The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-chipping to the boy’s strand of hair, to the boy’s proper right thumb, and the majority of the flute in the boy’s hands is missing
- multiple repaired breaks, including to boy’s neck, both arms, boy’s proper right shin, the buffalo’s proper right horn
- the boy has been reattached to the buffalo with associated overpainting to the boy’s robe - cracks with associated small loss to glass to the buffalo’s haunch
- some minor glaze loss on the molding lines of the buffalo
