The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- a chip to one upper corner and an associated linear area of overpainting to one side of the upper body, probably to cover up restoration
- a section with two restuck pieces to the mouth with associated overpainting
- some fritting to the mouth rim
- other scattered areas of overpainting, particularly to the edges
- expected rubbing and small areas of flaking to the enamels, and some surface abrasion and light scratches
