The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Both: - Some expected areas of overpainting and overall wear, and expected wear and scratches to base of box
- A small chip to the base
- A few scattered and expected tiny chips and nicks to the raised decoration
Larger: - The majority of the interior has been relacquered/overpainted
- Loss to the calyx of pomegranate with associated overpainting
Smaller: - A linear chip and a few other small chips to the flange of box
- Some overpainting to the interior
