The Gemini astronauts: 4 candid portraits of Frank Borman; James Lovell Jr.; Thomas P. Stafford and Walter M. Schirra Jr.; Dave Scott and Neil Armstrong; December 4, 1965 to 11 March, 1966
The Gemini program was a series of preparatory spaceflight missions in eart orbit between 1965 and 1966. The Gemini missions took place between the Mercury and Apollo programs and provided invaluable results for future space missions. In particular, Gemini proved that NASA could perform spacewalks, a rendezvous between two modules while in space. 3 years after his mission aboard Gemini VIII (see iv.), Neil Armstrong would make history as the first human to step foot on the moon.
