The picture is painted on a cradled panel. It was common for the artist to use pre-cradled panels to work on and the presence of the cradle is not to counter any structural problem. The panel remains in very good condition. The adhesion between paint, preparation and panel is good. The picture is structurally stable.
Examination in a UV light shows the paint surface has some restoration glazes applied to a few spots: within the figures, to the green in the top right quadrant, and to a short horizontal line at the top of the picture, left of centre.
The painting is in good condition.
