The painted surface has been cleaned in the past.
There are some nice impastos intact
There are some very localised patterns of craquelure visible upon very close inspection (not distracting).
Examination under UV light shows spots of retouching at the extremities to old frame abrasions, very few minor, very well handled spots of retouching, predominantly in the sky to the left of the female figure and in the sky above the male figures.
Overall the painting presents very well in a gilt period style frame and can be hung as is.
