Di fronte alle opere di Ardengo Soffici, si può meditare quel carattere estetico particolarmente essenziale del cubismo, che non credo sia stato ancor colto, e par questo: aumentare la superficie plasticamente realizzabile di un oggetto [...]. In front of Ardengo Soffici's works, one can meditate on that particularly essential aesthetic character of Cubism, which I do not believe has yet been grasped, and it seems this: to increase the plastically realisable surface of an object [...]. The vertical planes that trace the thickness of a glass, a flask or an lantern globe are not geometric abstractions but lyrical realities. The vertical planes that echo the thickness of a glass.
