First edition. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher: 'Carlo from Agatha Nov. 1960'. This volume, with a foreword by the author, contains five short stories featuring Hercule Poirot, and one with Miss Marple. Two of the stories appear for the first time: Poirot’s ‘The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding’, and Miss Marple’s ‘Greenshaw’s Folly’. Hubin p. 79.

Octavo. Original red cloth (lacking the dust-jacket, some spotting to endpapers and adjoining leaves, spine sunned, some spotting to edges, one or two minor bumps to edges, faint crease to spine). Provenance: Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; presentation inscription by the author on front free endpaper, and with Fisher’s posthumous book label).
