Ridley, Peace + Love, Hank Mobley’, and dated 4 April 1981, provenance: RR Auctions, Boston, 12 October 2011, lot 906; Bill Evans with Shelly Manne and Eddie Gomez A Simple Matter of Conviction, Verve, 1966, signed by Bill Evans on the front of the sleeve, together with a 1961 handbill for the Jazz Theatre Concert Series at the Kaufmann Concert Hall, New York, which featured Evans amongst others; Evans’ Autumn Leaves, Joker Records, 1977, signed by Bill Evans on the reverse of the sleeve; accompanied by a letter concerning the provenance; Kenny Dorham’s Kenny Dorham / 1959, Prestige, 1969, signed, inscribed and dated ‘12-3-73' by Kenny Dorham on the reverse of the sleeve, the date preceding his death on 5 December 1972 by just two days; Ornette Coleman’s Free Jazz. A Collective Improvisation by the Ornette Coleman Double Quartet, Atlantic, 1960, signed by Ornette Coleman on the gatefold sleeve; Harry Carney’s With Strings, Clef, 1955, signed by Carney on the reverse of the sleeve; and Johnny Hodges’ Johnny Hodges Collates, No. 1 & 2, Clef Records, 1952 and 1953, each signed by Johnny Hodges on the reverse of the sleeve; with others including Dizzy Gillespie, Mary Lou Williams, Dexter Gordon, Ella Fitzgerald, Coleman Hawkins and Art Pepper.
