First UK edition in a dust-jacket of this Poirot mystery. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author in the month of publication to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher: 'To Carlo from Agatha Nov. 1956'. Hubin p. 79.

Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in black (slight browning and spotting to endpapers, edges lightly spotted, spine sunned); original dust-jacket supplied from another copy (spine ends torn with loss [not affecting author’s name or imprint], ends of folds and lower panel slightly frayed, lower panel slightly toned). Provenance: Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; presentation inscription by the author on front free endpaper, and with Fisher’s posthumous book label).
