First UK edition in dust-jacket. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author 'To Geoff & Violet from Agatha.' The recipients were Christie’s friends Geoffrey and Violet Shipston, to whom she had dedicated Three Act Tragedy (1935). Hubin p. 80.

Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in black (slight stain to preliminary blank, top edge of boards slightly dust-stained, spine ends lightly bumped); original pictorial dust-jacket (somewhat dust-stained, rather chipped with small loss at head and foot of spine, spine and folds discoloured). Provenance: Geoffrey and Violet Shipston (presentation inscription by the author on front free endpaper).
