A comedy of Anglo-American misunderstanding: first US edition in the rare dust-jacket. First published in Munsey’s Magazine in August 1913, The Little Nugget introduces Nesta Ford and her son Ogden, who earns the nickname ‘Little Nugget’ after being targeted by American kidnappers. McIlvaine A16b.

Octavo. Frontispiece and two plates. Original black cloth, upper board and spine lettered and stamped in gilt (small hole in lower hinge and associated repair to lower joint); original pictorial dust-jacket priced $1.25 (spine ends a little frayed, a few tears with tape repairs on reverse, edges lightly rubbed). Provenance: Frits Menschaar (no evidence of provenance).
