Provenance: Charlotte ‘Carlo’ Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; posthumous book label on pastedown).

First edition, pre-publication issue. Octavo. Two photographic plates (a few faint marks). Original printed wrappers, stating on the upper wrapper: ‘Not Published / This copy is supplied on loan for the use of professional companies and must be returned to’ (lightly creased); custom red morocco-backed box. Provenance: from the library of Christie’s literary agent Edmund Cork (without internal evidence).
