Presentation copy of the first UK edition, inscribed by the author to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher: 'Carlo from Agatha'. The plot of this novel is based on the Hercule Poirot short story Yellow Iris which had been published in the Strand Magazine in July 1937, however there are plot and character changes, the main one being that Christie replaced the character Poirot with Colonel Race as the chief investigator.
