The inclusion of the ebonized nude female busts and the distinctly undulating legs suggest Russia as the place of manufacture of this dressing table. Tables dating from the late 1700s and early 1800s with similarly curved legs can be found in the collection of the Pavlovsk Palace Museum, see Antoine Chenevière, Russian Furniture: The Golden Age 1780-1840, London, 1988, p. 135, fig. 124. and p. 171, fig. 171.
