We have sought to record changes in condition to this piece acquired after its initial manufacture. The first bottle: There are some tiny chips to the lacquer near the mouth rim and a minute chip to Zhang Guolao's instrument and his hat and a minute nick to the foot rim. Additionally there are small areas of surface abrasion. The bottle has possibly been re-lacquered. The second bottle: it is much heavier and slightly darker in red. There appear to be some tiny cracks in the foliage above the boaters.

- 張果老之魚鼓及帽子各有一細磕
- 局部表面有磨損
- 器身可能經重髹
壺二：
- 較壺一重，色澤亦較暗
- 舟上方的枝葉上有輕微裂紋
