The work is hinged at the upper corners to the backing board. The canvas undulates slightly. An artist's pinhole is to the center upper edge. Faint soiling and a few minute accretions are near the edges. A thin, curvilinear surface irregularity is to the center lower edge, probably a vestige of the artist's working method. A small tear is near the lower left quadrant, mostly within the margin. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
