拍品专文

A unique partnership between Corum and Rolls Royce in the mid 1970’s exemplifies the avant-garde nature of the Corum during the period. Produced in yellow and white gold in series for a short time only, the Rolls Royce watch has a case made in the likeness of a Rolls Royce grille from the period, topped by none other than the small statuette which graces the hood of every Rolls Royce, the Spirit of Ecstasy, aka “the flying lady”.

These watches are quite rare and usually found on straps in yellow or white gold. Occasionally, white gold watches are seen with round diamonds set around the grille. The present example is quite extraordinary indeed as it appears to be the only known Rolls Royce in white gold with baguette cut diamonds set around the perimeter of the grille and to add to the incredibly rarity of the watch in white gold with baguette diamonds, the watch was delivered with a Corum branded brick bracelet in 18k white gold made by Gay Freres
