The case is in good condition with scratches. The case and lugs have been lightly polished. The numbers are visible between the lugs. The back of the lugs show light signs of wear with scratches. The case back has scratches throughout and the engraving 'Rolex Oyster Case' is visible, but faint. The inside of the case back is stamped '6564' and 'III.56' indicating its production in the third quarter of 1956. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The bezel has scratches and small nicks. The dial has turned to a sand-like color. The center of the dial is slightly darker. There are lighter spots around the hour markers and the above the Rolex signature. The luminous plot at 7 o'clock is partially deteriorated and the 8 o'clock plot is completely gone. The luminous plots have darkened with age. The hands have developed a heavy patina. The luminous plots in the hands have darkened with age. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
