Tudor introduced the reference 7928 in 1959 and this was the first Tudor Submariner with crown guards. The reference 7928 was in production until 1967. The Reference 7928 used the celebrated "Auto-Prince" caliber 390, a FEF (Fabrique d'Ebauches de Fleurier) based 17 jewel movement. It was available with different types of crown guards. The dials always featured the Tudor rose symbol followed by "Oyster Prince" to the upper half, the lower half generally the depth rating 200m=660ft, Submariner, Rotor, Self-Winding on four lines. The bezel on this example has turned a bit brown and complements the beautiful toasted almond colored lume.

The present watch comes from the son of the original owner. The original owner was in the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. Durring his time in Vietnam he wore this this Tudor reference 7928. The original owner ended his career in the military as a Major. There are two photographs of the original owner wearing this watch, one in his dress whites uniform and other in his tan uniform. The original owner took good care of his watch and had it serviced multiple times, he also kept all the paperwork including the envelop that the service estimate came in from Rolex USA. It is rare to find a vintage watch with this type of documentation because most people discarded this paperwork. This is a great opportunity to own a Tudor Submariner in great condition with military provenance.
