Lot Essay

First introduced in the late 1960s, the present watch was originally called ‘rectangle cintré coins arrondis’. It was such a success that Cartier produced it in various sizes and metals. With a sapphire set crown and ‘Epée’ hands it is an unusual and attractive timepiece. This watch features a Cartier signed, 18 jewel adjusted movement with an anti-shock device.
