The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside of its wooden strip frame, which is attached with nails to the side edges of the canvas. Fine tension cracking is to the turning edges and corner-tips with occasional associated tiny losses. Faint stretcher bar impressions are occasionally to the edges. A few tiny accretions are near the center right edge, and pinpoint ones are infrequent. Two tiny impressions are to the left edge below center, and a minute one is to the figure's proper left wrist. Faint handling marks and tiny cracks are infrequent. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
