The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First cup:
-small black speckles to the interior
-a few small glaze gaps
-light rubbing to gilding
First saucer:
-kiln grit adhesions to foot and base
Single saucer:
-hairline crack to mouth rim
-wear to gilding on mouth rim
-small nick to foot rim
-small glaze gaps to the base
Second cup:
-chips and small fritting to mouth rim, two of the chips with associated hairline cracks
-flat chips to foot rim
Second saucer:
-small areas of misfire to glaze
-a small glaze flake to the interior
