The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Lovely cabinet. Structurally sound and ready to use. With general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. There are several old repaired age cracks and cracks to the satinwood veneers on the front of the cabinet. The veneers also have minor areas with scattered fraying, lifting, and small losses with signs of infill and restorations. This is typical for a case piece of this age. The feet are later replacements, as stated in the cataloguing. There is a small loss to the border veneer of the oval medallion on the cresting, visible in catalogue photographs. Likely some refreshments to the painted areas. The circular mirrors with minor losses to silvering commensurate with age. Overall a very beautiful piece with a well-established history and featured in various publications.
Once this piece is in its next home, it could benefit from some minor conservation work to fill in the small losses and stabilize the craquelure to the satinwood veneers. But this is minor and would be subject to the new owner's preference.
Comes with two keys for upper and lower cabinets. The drop-front drawer for the bureau does not have a key, but can be released by pressing the buttons on either side of the hinges after pulling the drawer out.
Also worth noting that the back of the cabinet has some old white chalk inscriptions and an old shipping or storage label from Louis Arnoff, Connecticut.
