The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall good condition; some stacking wear; light surface wear and light rubbing to the gilding in places; a few small chips to footrims (not visible when placed); a few small firing lines and minor flaws in the making. Sizes and additional details regarding condition below:
An ice-cooler, cover and liner, 163⁄4 in. (42.5 cm.) high—Some larger patches of wear to the gilt mask terminals of the handles; a few glaze lines to the underside of the socle.
Four sauce tureens and covers on fixed stands, 81⁄8 in. wide, the stands-- One stand with a small rim repair with old overpaint, now flaking mainly to the underside, part of a related hairline visible to top of the stand; one cover with the finial restuck/repined;
Two square shaped dishes, 85⁄8 in. wide—One with a faint Y-shaped hairline to the reverse, a small section of it visible to the front but very difficult to see.
Twenty-two dinner plates, 10 in. diameter— Many plates with spots of stacking wear near the cavetto; a few faint glaze lines to undersides; ‘Paris’ with a flat chip to underside of rim; ‘Londres’ and ‘Bains d’Ems’ with some old grey overpaint to the stacking wear spots in the sky; a few plates with more light scratches (‘Monument Nelson’ and ‘Athene’); ‘Vannes’ with a hairline crack to the rim at 12 o’clock that extends into the center.
