The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This beautiful bureau is in good condition and structurally stable. There is a varnish to the lacquer, which has a bloom in some areas, craquelure overall and some flaking. Some chips and losses to the lacquer. The decoration with further 18th Century European lacquer embellishment. Some cracks and shrinkage splits to the lacquer along the lines of the construction beneath and with resultant losses. The fall-front is warped resulting in a small gap between the top of the fall front and the carcass. The decoration of the interior with some refreshments. The leather is in good order. It is likely to have been replaced and has minor marks and wear consistent with use. The mounts are beautifully chased and in good condition overall with some rubbing and tarnishing to the gilding. There is one key. The lock possibly replaced resulting in two cuts to the interior above it.
