The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage, elle est maintenue sous tension et reste stable. La matière en surface de la peinture s'est amincie à la suite du processus de rentoilage.
À la lumière naturelle, il y a des traces de retouches dans les carnations qui ont viré avec le temps. La surface de la matière présente de fines craquelures. Le vernis est sujet à quelques encrassements.
L'examen sous lumière UV révèle un comblement des craquelures dans les carnations et dans le rideau de droite. Il y a quelques retouches dans les zones sombres de l'arrière-plan et quelques retouches ponctuelles dans le costume du modèle. La matière reste stable et le modelé du personnage est tout à fait appréciable.

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable. The paint surface has thinned as a result of the relining process.
In natural light, there is evidence of some retouching in the flesh tones that has discoloured with age. There is a fine pattern of craquelure across the paint surface. The varnish carries some dirt.
Examination under UV light reveals some infill to the craquelure in the flesh tones and in the curtain to the right. There is some retouching to the dark areas of the background and some scattered retouching in the sitter's costume. The paint remains stable, and the modeling of the sitter fully appreciable.
