La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage, elle est maintenue sous tension et reste stable. Le processus de rentoilage a quelque peu aplati les couches supérieures de matière.
Le tableau présente bien à la lumière naturelle, les détails de la composition étant bien préservés. Il y a des traces de retouches éparses à l'arrière-plan. Les carnations présentent un fin réseau de craquelures.
L'examen sous lumière UV confirme ce qui précède. Il y a d'autres retouches sur le visage de l'enfant à l'extrême gauche et sur celui de la femme assise à la harpe. Il y a d'autres petites retouches éparses dans les costumes. La matière est stable.

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable. The relining process has flattened the upper paint layers somewhat.
The painting presents well in natural light, with the detail of the composition well preserved. There is evidence of scattered retouching in the background. The flesh tones have a fine network of craquelure.
Examination under UV light confirms the above. There is further retouching to the face of the child at far left and the woman seated at the harp. There is some further minor scattered retouching in the costumes. The paint is stable.
