The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Condition report :
Good overall condition.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use.
There are some losses to the gilding revealing the red bole, the white gesso and the bare wood underneath.
There are some minor restorations to the gilding
There are some minor restorations especially to the upper backrail and to the armrests of both armchairs.
There are some very minor losses to the carving especially to the feet.
There is a trace of a label behind one armchair.
Some very minor threads of the trimming behind one armchair are slightly pulled.
There are the inevitable tear and wear to the fabric with one stain to the seat of one armchair.
