A CHARLES X ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK
The label is that of Louis-Stanislas Lenoir-Ravrio (1783-1846), partner and reputedly the illegitimate son of André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814), a celebrated bronzier who supplied large quantities of bronzes d'ameublement to the Imperial Garde-Meuble. Lenoir-Ravrio inherited the business following André-Antoine's death in 1814 and took part in the Musée Industriel exhibition of 1819, where he was commended for 'manufacture... d'un excellent goût'.
