Overall structurally sound and sturdy. The later marble top with scattered surface marks and minor scratches, with nibbles to the edge as expected. The carving is very well-drawn, and lovely form. As visible in the catalogue photos, the base has an overall distressed appearance, as the prior layer of gilding has been largely scraped off and is flaking in areas, revealing the white-painted surface, yellow bole, and bare wood in places beneath it. This table could benefit from being re-gilt or re-decorated as desired, and could look immaculate once done. There are typical old repairs and small losses to the carved extremities throughout, and the feet have typical signs of wear commensurate with age.
